The European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominica, African Regional Operations has conferred an honorary Doctor of Science degree in Research Development and National Growth, honoris causa on Sir Kevin Ogbonna Ike for his meritorious service in education and career.
The representative of the President of the university, Prof John Kennedy, Prof Ichado Maiyanga conferred the doctorate degree on Sir Kevin Ogbonna Ike during the graduation ceremony organized by the institution in Abuja at the weekend.
Maiyanga said the award was in consideration of Kevin Ike’s impressive achievements, dynamic successes as well as his contributions to national growth and development.
He said all rights and privileges of the university have been accorded him following the CONFERMENT of the degree.
According to him, Sir Kevin Ike, a 4th Degree Knight of St Mulumba, stood out among his fellow graduands as he was also recognized by the university through an award for excellent service.
Speaking in an interview, the awardee, who is Director of Research & Statistics, at the Federal Capital Territory Administration, said the honour was most expected from the great institute of learning owing to his relentless services to humanity and the society in general.
Also speaking, the wife of the recipient, Mrs Evangeline Ike
expressed happiness that the efforts of her husband in the academic and career have gained recognition from the university. She was, however, grateful that despite all odds, there are reputable organization and institutions that still recognize hard work and meritorious service.
Dr Ike who has attained several educational and professional qualifications has also received several merit and fellowship awards locally and internationally.
He is married to Lady Evangeline Chiebonam Ike and they are blessed with four children.
