ACCI Pledges Support for Young Entrepreneurs

The Director-General, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Prince Adetunkunbo Kayode has restated his commitment to support young entrepreneurs in the country.
He stated this during the Chamber’s Business Entrepreneurship Skills And Technology, Young Entrepreneur Start-up Product Launch for Kamilah Farms Nigeria Limited in Abuja, at the weekend.
The product, Kamilah Zobo Powder is the brainchild of Miss Kamilah Ahmed, a 13-year-old student of Tulip International School, Kaduna. She is the daughter of Amina Tukur Othman, Head of Public Communications, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).
Adetunkunbo who noted that education is not only for certification urged parents to encourage their children to be creative and productive rather than being jobless after graduation.
He promised to support Kamilah’s project and other aspiring young entrepreneurs who want to engage in creativity to grow.
The Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mr. Olusegun Awolowo who was represented by Mrs Gertrude Ukoanam expressed gratitude to the Leadership of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing this laudable sustaining Entrepreneurial development and mentorship.
He affirmed the agency’s support to promote Kamilah Farm”s product to attain global status through various strategic platforms.
The president, Federation of West African Chamber of Commerce/NACCIMA, Hajia Saratu Iya- Aliyu said, for the economy of Nigeria to grow, there should be more training of youths, growing of skills, employment of youths entrepreneurs among others.
Aliyu who was represented by Prof. Adedoji Adesugba said the Chamber was committed to employing youths with creative talents, urging more youths to challenge themselves, come out and showcase their talents like Kamilah Ahmed.
Also speaking, the younger entrepreneur, Kamilah Ahmed expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she received and called on other teenagers to follow suit.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was represented at the event, while other dignitaries present, included top government functionaries, captains of industries and members of the Diploma Corps.
