Some beneficiaries of Conditional-Cash-Transfer of the National Social Investment Programme in Kaduna State says the Households Uplifting Programme has significantly improved their livelihood. The beneficiaries, mostly aged women, who said this after reviewing N20,000 each, in Chikun and Ikara Local Government Areas of the state on Wednesday, commended the Federal Government for transforming their lives through the programme. The management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) on Wednesday donated food items worth N10 million to the Osun Government as relief materials to cushion the effect of COVID-19 lockdown on residents of the state. Mr Akin Ogunleye, the Osun Regional Head of IBEDC, while presenting the food items to the state government officials in Osogbo said the gesture was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Ogun Government says it has taken delivery of a molecular laboratory as part of its efforts at flattening the curve of the Coronavirus pandemic in the state. Gov. Dapo Abiodun said in a statement on Wednesday that the molecular laboratory would be unveiled during the next 14 days lockdown at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Sagamu. Abiodun said that the final touches were being put in place to begin its installation and eventual operation. Osun state government has discharged six more COVID-19 patients after testing negative twice to the virus, in line with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocol, following their treatment at the Isolation Centre in Ejigbo. The Lagos State Government has confirmed 13 new cases of Coronavirus in the state. Prof. Akin Abayomi, Commissioner of Health in the state made the confirmation via his Twitter handle, on Tuesday. Abayomi disclosed that the 13 new cases now bring the total number of those infected in the state to 192. He also disclosed that six patients who have now fully recovered have been discharged. The Imo State Police Command has arrested one 44-year-old Chinomso Okonkwo for allegedly defiling his own daughter, Blessing Okonkwo. DAILY POST reports that the suspect gave a shocking confession of how he often invites his friends who come to his house to have a canal knowledge of the teenage girl.
