Sokoto State Government has closed all interstates routes into the state from midnight of Friday, March 27 to April 10, as initial two-week period to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Gov. Aminu Tambuwal stated this on Thursday in Sokoto, explaining that the measure does not include supply of food and essential medical commodities. Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State has announced the closure of all land borders with neighbouring states and the Niger Republic, as part of measures to contain the possible spread of Covid-19 to the state. NAN reports that Katsina State shares borders with Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and Zamfara, and with the Republic of Niger to the north. The Supreme Court in a four to one split ruling on Friday dismissed a request to review its judgment filed by the Zamfara All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections. The apex court refused to set aside its consequential order that made the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) beneficiary of all elective positions in the 2019 general elections in Zamfara. Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido says he has gone into self-isolation. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ogun has directed all churches in the state to close down completely and immediately. The directive was given on Friday through a statement issued by the state Chairman, Bishop Tunde Akin-Akinsanya.
