All Eyes on Gov Uzodinma at NEC meeting
All eyes were on Imo state Governor Hope Uzodinma as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, presided over the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting. The meeting is the first NEC for the year and the first for the newly sworn-in Governor Uzodinma. The newest member of the council exchanged banters with other governors. The former Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, and six other co-defendants charged with 42 counts in connection with the controversial 1.09 billion dollars settlement agreement on Malabu Oil Block, on Thursday pleaded not guilty. Prof. Kabiru Bala has emerged as the new Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. This was announced on Wednesday by Malam Adamu Fika, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the university. The Police in Katsina State has announced the killing of a notorious kidnapper, Yunusa Boka, who was terrorizing people of Danmusa and Kankara local government areas of the state. Mr Realwan Okpanachi, a constitutional lawyer in Abuja, says the Supreme Court cannot entertain any application on a case it has decided on, or reverse its judgment.
