Lagos State Government on Friday got commendation from Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) for creating enabling atmosphere for the smooth take-off of the petrochemical refinery and fertilizer projects sited in Ibeju-Lekki area Lagos by Dangote Group. President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said that the passage of the 2020 Budget by the National Assembly and its prompt assent by President Muhammadu Buhari will have a significant impact on the country’s economy starting from January next year. A Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), 14 days to detain former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr Mohammed Adoke, to complete investigation. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified patrol, joint operations and raid of black spots to ensure hitch-free Yuletide in the territory. The Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the command, Mr Bala Ciroma disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja. He said the command had redoubled efforts in the deployment of personnel, surveillance and stop and search operations in the territory. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun on Friday said that 338 lives were lost in road accidents across the state from January till date. Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Clement Oladele, disclosed this in Abeokuta at a one-day seminar on road safety during the festive period, organized by Ogun Caretaker Committee on Transportation in conjunction with Tunes Communications Ltd. The Supreme Court on Friday, voided the candidature of Uche Nwosu as the governorship flag bearer of the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2019 general elections in Imo, over double nomination. The apex court, in its judgment delivered by Justice Adamu Augie, upheld the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division.
