Nov. 4, 2019 (NAN) The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, says production of the first set of Mines Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles by the Nigerian Army Command Engineering Depot in Kaduna has reached 80 per cent completion. Buratai disclosed this during the inspection of work at the depot in Rigachikun, Kaduna State on Monday. He disclosed that that the decision to go into local production of combat vehicles nicknamed ‘Ezugwu MRAP’, was to deploy local content and technology to support army operations. The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says it will no longer pay contractors for shoddy and substandard jobs. Dr Akwagaga Enyia, the Acting Managing Director of NDDC, gave the warning while inspecting the 15-kilometre Ajowa-Akunnu Akoko Road in Ajowa, Akoko North-West Local Government area of Ondo State, on Monday. A 35-year-old man Sunday Williams was on Monday brought before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing tubers of yam, valued at N20,000. Williams, whose address was not given, is facing one-count charge of stealing. The Prosecutor, Insp. Caleb Leranmo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 1, at 6.00 a.m. at Idi Agba, off Ilawe Road, Ado-Ekiti. The Federal Government says it will support the 650,000 barrels per day capacity Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Plant with crude oil feed stock and other necessary inputs to ensure the success of the project. Guinness Nigeria Plc emerged the lowest performing stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) for the month of October in percentage terms. Data obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the stock lost 29.85 per cent to close at N23.85 per share against the opening price of N34. Mr John Adeleke, Chairman, Oyo State Internal Revenue Service (OYSIRS), has disclosed that the state’s monthly internally-generated revenue (IGR) has moved from N1.3 billion to N2.7 billion.
