The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the suspension of ongoing recruitment of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pending the determination of a suit filed by one Mr Pelumi Olajengbesi. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Olajengbesi, a public interest lawyer, had commenced the enforcement of the Fundamental Rights of all potential applicants to set aside the recruitment by the NNPC on the ground that it was discriminatory. The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari over his administration’s delay in prosecuting armed Fulani herdsmen who have killed several farmers in Nigeria. Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has warned its members in Nasarawa State against deliberate encroachment on farmlands. Seven persons including five adults and two children have died in a ghastly auto accident involving the advance team of Edo state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki on Benin-Auchi Expressway. Some other persons including one of the Governor’s driver were also injured in the accident.
