The Police in Rivers on Monday said they had killed “a notorious gang leader’’, Linus Lebari, 35, popularly known as Bobby/Devil, terrorising Ogoni area of the state. A 38-year-old man, Segun Adekoye, on Monday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, alleged to have sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl. The defendant, a bus conductor, who resides at Abule Egba area of Lagos, is facing a charge of sexual assault. Two engineers, Tunde Adesanya, and Abiodun Adeleye, on Monday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding their client of two millon naira. Adesanya, 38, and Adeleye, 34, were arraigned on a two-count-charge of conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretences. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecutor, Sgt. Two men: Hassan Abiodun and Lateef Ogunsanya, charged with robbing a woman of her valuables worth N2.58million were arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday. Abiodun, 37, a worker with the NURTW and Ogunsanya, 19, both residents of Ikorodu area of Lagos State, were arraigned before Magistrate B.O. Osunsanmi on charges of conspiracy, assault and stealing. A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin on Monday admitted a 21-year-old man, Yusuf Shehu, to bail in the sum of N200,000 for allegedly being in possession of human hair. The police charged Shehu, who resides at No. 11, Alkali Street, Isale Koto area, Ilorin with unlawful possession of human parts. The Police in Niger have arrested a 40-year-old man, Samaila Shuaibu for allegedly torturing his six year-old son, Habibu to death. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kwara Sector Command, has arrested and impounded 109 motorcycles and tricycles for various traffic offences. The arrests were part of the command’s activities towards ensuring that tricycles and motorcycles complied with having the appropriate licences and number plates.
