The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled the governorship primaries in Lagos, Enugu and Adamawa states. According to a statement issued by the party’s Spokesman, Mr. Yekini Nabena, on Monday in Abuja, the mode of primaries for Enugu and Adamawa states had also been changed from indirect to direct primaries. He said the Lagos governorship primaries would now hold on Tuesday, Oct. 2, while the Enugu and Adamawa direct governorship primaries shall take place on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.
An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Lagos, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday said he was disappointed by what he called attacks on him by Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode earlier in the day. Sanwo-Olu, a former Commissioner of Training and Establishments, expressed the view in a statement he issued in Lagos. Mr Adams Oshiomhole, the party’s National Chairman announced this on Saturday in Abuja,while inaugurating the party’s Governorship Primary Election Committee and the Presidential National Convention Committee. Nigeria’s women’s affairs minister on Saturday handed in her resignation to President Muhammadu Buhari in the latest setback for his party before presidential polls in February. Okechukwu Osadebe, 18-year-old son of late highlife maestro, Chief Stephen Osadebe, has lost his life in a flood disaster in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)reports that the younger Osadebe died on Thursday Sept. 27 in the Osadebe’s Atani country home in Ogbaru when he was swept away by the flood at about 7:30pm.
