Former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to emerge as the Democratic presidential candidate.
This was as Pelosi disclosed that it was time for the Democrats to unite and defeat former President Donald Trump of the Republican Party.
Posting on X, Pelosi wrote:
“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.
“Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”
This followed the decision of President Joe Biden to endorse Harris to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming presidential election.
Biden had endorsed Harris after he stepped down from the presidential race over health and performance concerns.
