In a shocking incident on Thursday night, unidentified gunmen invaded the palace of Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, resulting in the tragic assassination of the community’s traditional ruler, HRH Retired General Segun Aremu.

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, swiftly condemned the heinous act, describing it as reckless and abominable. In an official statement, the governor expressed profound condolences to the people of Koro, emphasizing the broken hearts shared by the community.

The gunmen not only took the life of General Segun Aremu but also abducted his wife and two others. Governor AbdulRazaq urged security agencies to deploy all necessary resources to track down the perpetrators, ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals, and bring the assailants to justice.

The governor affirmed his commitment to ensuring that the criminals face the consequences of their actions, stating, “We will certainly get the perpetrators and ensure that this is their last crime against humanity.”

As the community grapples with this tragic loss, the governor reassured the people of Koro that they are not alone, pledging solidarity and support during this challenging time.
