The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed has disclosed that the Federal Government has captured the funding of the ever-busy Owerri- Elele- Port Harcourt Expressway in the 2020 Budget.
She spoke on Thursday at the Budget 2020 Breakdown Briefing at the auditorium of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning in the Central Business District, Abuja.
According to her, the Federal Government has earmarked “the sum of N1 billion for the construction of Elele- Owerri Road in Rivers and Imo State”.
Captured under the subheading of “Niger-Delta, the approval is for the completion of the trunk A road which connects the South-South region to the rest of the county.
Also prominent in the Budget 2020 is the construction of various skills acquisition centers with resident supervision and furnishing/equipping in nine states of the Niger- Delta for the sum of N1.56 billion.
The sum of N350 million has equally been set aside for the design and construction of Ebute- Ipare road in Ilaje, Ondo state.
