The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says no fewer than 1,739 foreigners have been evacuated from Nigeria through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos since the evacuation exercise began about 10 days ago. Abia Government has announced the extension of the ongoing lockdown directive in the state by seven days. Mr Chris Ezem, Secretary to the State Government, said in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday that the extension would take effect from Wednesday. The Katsina State Government has confirmed the death of a medical doctor, Dr Aliyu Yakubu, affected by the Coronavirus. The deceased, aged 60, died at the Nigeria Air Force Reference Hospital, Daura three days ago.Gov. Aminu Masari, who made the disclosure at a press conference on Tuesday in Katsina, said that the deceased owned a private hospital in Daura and had visited his home state, Kogi, from where he traveled to Lagos some weeks ago. The Ekiti House of Assembly has passed the Public Procurement Bill into law to strengthen the state public procurement legal framework. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) says it has discharged seven patients earlier screened of COVID-19 and managed at the isolation and treatment centre after they tested negative to the virus. The Kwara Government has announced the lockdown of Offa Local Government council following confirmation of two index cases of COVID-19 in the area. The state Chairman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19, Mr Kayode Alabi, told newsmen in Ilorin on Tuesday that the Offa lockdown would take effect from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
