The National Industrial Court, Abuja has dismissed ex- Adamawa governor, Bala Nggilari’s suit for payment of pension and other benefits, for lack of proof. Nggilari, the claimant was the deputy- governor, then governor of Adamawa between May 29, 2007, to May 29, 2015. He instituted the suit against the State Government and Attorney-General of the State, by way of complaint and statement of facts on Nov. 17, 2015. An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Friday ordered the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, to appear in court over an alleged assault. Ruling in an Exparte application, Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara, ordered the police to put the traditional ruler on notice before a date would be fixed for hearing of the matter. The Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) says it has confiscated over 150 cartons of unregistered drugs and injections worth over N20 million. The drug is suspected to be Potwin and 30 cartons of Janify Caftarian injection allegedly smuggled into the state by some suspected drug peddlers. The Managing Director of the agency, Baffa Danagundi disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday in Kano, by the Public Relations Officer, Nabilus Abubakar. Cameroon’s health ministry on Friday confirmed the country’s first case of coronavirus, a 58-year-old French citizen who arrived in the capital Yaounde on Feb. 24. The Management of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia, has expanded the hospital’s isolation centre in preparatory for any reported case of COVID-19 in the state. The Kwara Ministry of Environment and Forestry has warned residents against indiscriminate refuse dumps to prevent the flood. The government said such acts, could cause blockage of roads, environmental health hazards, and destruction of properties. The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has approved N100 million for infrastructure development in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam, Anambra.
