Ekiti govt dismisses 3 randy teachers
Ekiti Government on Friday announced the immediate dismissal from the service of the three public secondary school teachers accused of sexually harassing their female students. The State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), which made this known in Ado Ekiti, said the board dismissed the erring teachers for sexual molestation and for bringing the state into disrepute. Their dismissal was announced after an emergency plenary of the Teaching Service Commission held in Ado Ekiti. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dislodged some Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and destroyed some of their facilities at a location referred to as the “S” Region in the heart of the Sambisa forest, Borno. The Nigerian Army says that eight members of Boko Haram fighters have surrendered to the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at Banki Town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno. The Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, Col. Aminu Iliyasu, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. The absence of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s counsel, Mohammed Abubakar, in the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, stalled hearing in the case filed against Faisal Maina, who is facing charges bordering on money laundering and false asset declaration. Police arraign ‘fake’ Ministry of Interior staff for allegedly defrauding job seekers of N1.3m
The police, on Thursday, arraigned a 34-year-old woman, Alanza Pamah in a Wuse Zone VI Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly defrauding job seekers of N1.3 million. Pamah, who resides in Aco Estate, Lugbe, Abuja is charged with three counts of impersonation, criminal breach of trust and criminal intimidation. The Police Command in Cross River has arrested five suspected kidnappers and four armed robbers in the state. Commissioner of Police, Mr Nkereuwem Akpan, who presented the suspects at the State Command Headquarters in Calabar, said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the command. Akpan said that four of the kidnappers were arrested following a petition by one Egbe Enya on July 20, 2019 that his relatives were kidnapped at gun point in Calabar.
