Nestle Nigeria Plc on Thursday notified the shareholders, investing public and the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of the appointment of Mrs Juliet Ehimuan as an Independent Non-Executive Director. The company, in a notice to the NSE by its Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser, Bode Ayeku, said the appointment was effective Feb. 24. The notice said Ehimuan, the current Country Manager for Google in Nigeria, had about 25 years professional work experience. COVID-19: More new cases outside China – WHO
The World Health Organisation (WHO) says the number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases outside China has outpaced those inside the country for the first time. The WHO Director-General of the world body, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said on the agency’s twitter handle @WHO that China reported 78,190 cases, including 2,718 deaths as at Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020. Google Nigeria, in partnership with digital payments company, Flutterwave, will commence a series of business clinics aimed at helping 5,000 merchants across Nigeria acquire the skills and tools needed. Tolulope Akinyele, Google Partners Lead, West Africa, made this known in Lagos on Thursday. The skills and tools needed would leverage the Web for growth of the training tagged ‘Digital Business Compass’. The first clinic session would commence from March 3 to March 5 in Lagos. Justice Yetunde Adesanya of an Ikeja High Court on Thursday struck out a suit filed by former Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos, seeking to stop his probe by the state Assembly over purchase of 820 buses for Bus Reform Project. Enugu residents have engaged in panic purchase of food items ahead of Saturday’s local government elections in the state.
