Three people have tested positive in Italy for coronavirus, the northern Lombardy region said on Friday. This is the first known cases of local transmission of the potentially deadly illness in Italy. The Federal Government has released N386million to two health agencies to strengthen Coronavirus, (COVID19), preparedness in the country. The Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), has promised to build the capacity of nurses and midwives in the country in order to ensure delivery of quality health care to Nigerians. Mrs Veronica Okolo, Director Nursing, FMoH, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Abuja. Four NSCDC officers kidnapped in Kogi
The police in Kogi have confirmed the kidnap of four officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) by unknown gunmen. The spokesman of the police in the state, DSP William Aya, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja that the officers were kidnapped at a spot in Alo-Offoke community on the Itobe-Ayingba road. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has returned to the Supreme Court asking the court to reverse its judgment disqualifying David Lyon, its candidate in the 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa State. The party’s application was filed on Thursday by its team of lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun,SAN. The United Progressive Party (UPP), on Friday, said it had merged with the All Progressives Congress (APC). Consequently, it said that it would not take the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to court over its deregistration. Borno Government on Friday, says it has vaccinated more than 2.1 million children against polio in just concluded Immuisation Plus Day exercise in the state. Dr. Sule Mele, Executive Director, Borno State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri.
