The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has formally clarified issues surrounding the operations of domiciliary accounts in Nigeria. Making the clarification in a chat with newsmen in Abuja , the Bank’s Director, Corporate Communications Department, Issac Okorafor stated that “the Bank has not prohibited the acceptance of foreign currency cash deposits by Deposit Money Banks.” He further explained that “Only electronic fund transfers into Domiciliary accounts can be transferred from such accounts while cash deposits into such accounts can only be withdrawn in cash also.” Okorafor therefore urged stakeholders and other interested parties to always endeavour to seek clarification on…

The Oyo State Government has warned worship houses, event planners and centres as well as clubs to desist from indiscriminate closure of public roads. This was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Saturday by the State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism. The Jigawa Police Command, has confirmed that its patrol vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian, Hauwa Danladi-Turis, and injured four others in Malammadori Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. Spokesman of the Command, SP Abdu Jinjiri, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Malammadori, that the incident occurred on Friday. A Professor of French Language and Linguistics, Oluremi Sonaiya, has called on parents to encourage children to learn two or more languages to build their intellects. Sonaiya, a former Lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has pleaded for understanding and patience of its customers in Ibadan, Ijebu-ode, Sagamu, Iseyin, Ejigbo and parts of Ede, currently experiencing minimal supply of power. The company’s acting Chief Technical Officer, Mr Felix Abiodun, made the pleal in a statement on Friday.
