Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, advised the EFCC to put its house in order to tender evidence in the trial of for Jigawa Governor, Sule Lamido. The EFCC charged Lamido, with 43 counts amended charge bordering on abuse of office and money laundering to the tune of N1.35 billion. The Jigawa Consumer Protection Committee (CPC), says it has confiscated 27 bags of adulterated hibiscus worth more than N400,000 from a trader, Sabitu Kabiru, at Maigatari market. Alhaji Faruq Abdallah, the Committee’s Chairman, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maigatari, Jigawa, on Wednesday. Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf of an FCT High Court Maitama, on Wednesday ordered for the release of the international passport of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd). The Chief Judge of Ogun, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, on Wednesday granted amnesty to 21 inmates in five Nigeria Correctional Services as part of the effort to decongest the centres across the state. Dipeolu had visited the centres located at Ibara and Oba in Abeokuta as well as those in Ilaro, Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode during her three days tour of the centres, which started on Monday. The police in Plateau on Wednesday arraigned two suspects before a Federal High Court in Jos for allegedly using the name of Plateau Governor, Simon Lalong, to swindle a Bauchi based businessman of N3million. The suspects, Hassan Ado and Abubakar Musa-Adamu, both residents of Jos North Local Government of Plateau, are facing a four-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, fraud and impersonation contrary to and punishable under Sections 518, 1(2), 343, 347 and 349 of Plateau State Penal Code Law. The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday depreciated further by N9 billion, amid profit taking. Specifically, the market capitalisation, which opened at N14.347 trillion lost N9 billion to close at N14.338 trillion. Also, the All-Share Index dipped 24.48 points or 0.09 per cent to close at 27,523.08 compared with 27,547.56 recorded on Tuesday. The Federal, States and Local Governments on Wednesday shared a total of N647.35 billion for the month of January as the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting ended in Lagos.
