The Osun House of Assembly on Monday passed the Osun Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Bill 2020 for first reading after it was presented by the Speaker, Mr Timothy Owoeye. Presenting the bill before the House, Owoeye said a letter and 40 copies of the draft bill on the establishment of the Amotekun security network was forwarded to him by Gov. Gboyega Oyetola. Some road users, including Mrs Funmi Akingbagbohun, Chairman, Ikeja Branch, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), on Monday called on the Lagos State Government to complete the construction of the Agege Pen Cinema Flyover within the stipulated time. Kwara govt. to revoke 5,000 plots of land
The Kwara government says it will revoke over 5,000 plots of land sold illegally by the immediate past administration. Bolaji Edun, the Director-General of Kwara Bureau of Lands, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in llorin. The Federal Government on Monday in Abuja, began the process of implementing establishment of Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZs) across the six geopolitical zones in the country. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono, at a two day Inception Workshop for development of the project organised in collaboration with the African Development Bank(AfDB), said it was long overdue. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Monday flagged off a Special Intervention Patrol (SIP) for the Jebba-Bode Saadu-Olooru road axis in Kwara. Oyo govt. to revoke 4 road contracts
The Oyo State Government said on Monday that four contracts would be terminated for failing to meet up with the performance specifications and schedule. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday said it was yet to take any decision on the resumption for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) remaining after the 2019 general elections. INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Festus Okoye, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.
