No fewer than four persons were confirmed dead while four others sustained injuries in a lone accident around Pipeline Junction, Ogere, Ogun, on Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesperson for Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Thursday. The Kano State Fire Service rescued 11 persons and saved property worth N33 million from 97 fire incidents in the state in December 2019. The service’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saidu Muhammad, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday that three lives were lost and properties worth N15 million were destroyed within the period. The police in Ilorin on Thursday arraigned one Yusuf Abdullahi who allegedly impersonated army personnel in an Ilorin Senior Magistrates’ Court. Abdullahi, whose address was not provided, is charged with two counts of impersonation and stealing. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecutor, Insp. Isaac Yakub, told the court that the case was transferred from the 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi Cantonment, to the State Crime Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) Ilorin. NNPC declares N13.23bn surplus for Oct.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) recorded a trading surplus of ₦13.23billion in October 2019. This represented an increase of 54 per cent compared to ₦8.59 billion surpluses posted in September 2019. The Corporation disclosed this in its Monthly Financial and Operation Report (MFOR) for the month of October released in Abuja, on Wednesday. The report reflected the sustained streak of positive results in the operations of the National Oil Company. Sequel to revocation of land belonging to former Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s family property, Kwara State government on Thursday demolished the property popularly known as Ile Arugbo (old people’s home) in Ilorin, the state capital. A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google’s homepages intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures. A poet and a Nigerian Naval officer, Commodore Umar Abubakar-Sidi, has advised Nigerian youths to engage in reading and composing literary materials to enhance their self-development and a brighter future for them. The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has urged Federal Government to adopt it’s One Local Government, One Product (OLOP) and Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) models as national emergency programmes. The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Command in Ogun, on Wednesday, confirmed the death of one person following an auto crash around J3, on Ijebu Ode-Ore Expressway.
