President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, placed travel restrictions on all his ministers. According to the Minister of Information, Culture & Tourism Minister Lai Mohammed, the ministers can only travel out of the country eight times in a year. Buhari directed that no Minister should go on foreign trips more than twice in a quarter. Also, no minister on a trip outside the shores of the land should go with more than four aides. The Zamfara Government says it will drag a total of 108 civil servants to court for allegedly receiving a double salary in different ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the state. The state’s Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Rabi’u Garba, disclosed this at a press briefing on Sunday in Gusau. Garba said that the affected workers were discovered during the ongoing investigation of workers’ salary issues by the state’s ministry of finance. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s penchant for ‘deliberate misinformation and outright lies’ have been described as unfortunate and quite unbecoming of a person that was once the head of government. Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun on Monday assented to the state’s 2020 Appropriation Bill of N119 billion. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the budget tagged, ‘Budget of Restoration,’ was passed by the Osun House of Assembly on Dec. 24. The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday passed the N1.169 trillion 2020 Appropriation Bill for the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on Nov. 8 presented a budget of N1.168 trillion with the theme “Budget of Reawakening”. A student of Crown Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, has been arrested by the Ekiti Police Command over the alleged gang-rape of two fellow students of the private institution. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Amba Asuquo, said on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti that the suspect in company with an accomplice committed the crime on Dec. 9.
