President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has congratulated Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on his 52nd birthday anniversary. Lawan felicitated with the Governor and members of his family for witnessing the day in good health. Lawan said Governor Buni has, within his short stay in office, demonstrated great capacity in handling the myriad of problems confronting the state. Alhaji Umar Pariya, longstanding aide to former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar is dead. Alhaji Pariya, better known as “Mr Pee” passed on today (November 19) and has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rite. PRNigeria says it is in possession of a very disturbing video showing how the son of the Shehu of Borno, Kashim Abubakar- Elkanemi, recklessly knocked down an officer of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at a car racing in Maiduguri, Borno State. The Senate has directed its Committees on Special Duties, Ecology and Climate Change and Environment to investigate the effectiveness of the National Emergency Management Agency over disaster response in 2019. This was even as the chamber directed the NEMA to immediately implement a response programme for the flood disaster that affected various communities in Demsa, Numa, Guyuk and Lamurde Local Governments of Adamawa State. President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed condolence to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the death of a close aide, Alhaji Umar Pariya. In his reaction to the sad event, President Buhari said: “I received the news of the death of your close aide, Alhaji Pariya, with a heavy heart. It is very touching to lose such a personal aide for many years. Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, told his political opponents to wait till 2023 to face him at the polls. The 2007 general election conducted by INEC under the supervision of Maurice Iwu is, perhaps, one of the most fraudulent in Nigeria’s electoral history.
