Mr Suileman Adamu, the Minister of Water Resources, says the Federal Government has commissioned no fewer than 700 water projects in Ogun and Kano states in the last two years. Adamu, who disclosed this at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) forum in Abuja on Friday, said the projects were under the Partnership for Expanded Water Supply, Sanitation & Hygiene (PEWASH). NAF training helicopter crashes in Enugu
A training helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has crashed in the NAF Base in Enugu after returning from a routine training exercise. According to NAF twitter account on Friday in Enugu, the crash occurred on Thursday after a routine training. Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have urged individuals and group to desist from protesting at the Headquarters of Department of State Services (DSS) to avoid breach of national security. The call was made in a statement issued on Friday by Guardians of Democracy and Development (GODD), Tiv Youth Council (TYC) Worldwide, Empowerment for Unemployed Youth Initiative (EUYI) and nine other groups. Nigeria, the Republic of Benin and Niger, have established a joint border patrol team comprising the Police, Customs, Immigration of the tripartite countries to recommend a date for the reopening of the borders. The three countries agreed in a resolution on Thursday in Abuja at the end of the Tripartite Anti-Smuggling Committee Meeting of Nigeria, Benin and Niger.
