A 34-year-old trader, Musa Kabiru, was on Wednesday arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged theft of a motorcycle. Kabiru, a resident of Hayin Bakin, Kawo, Kaduna, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft. The Prosecutor, Insp. The Joint Border Security Drill also known as operation ‘Swift Response’ says it has so far seized items worth N2.9 billion since the partial border closure. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Niger Command, has arrested one Fidelis Eshobi, 47, and Chika Onu, 38, with 149 kg of dried weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa. The Commander of the agency in the state, Mrs Sylvia Egwunwoke, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Wednesday, that the suspects were arrested on Nov. 9 in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state in a Mercedes Benz marked DV 865 RSH. Nigeria is producing 1.6 million to 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil, the chief operating officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation said on Wednesday, adding that the country would continue to comply with OPEC output cuts. “The last quota put us at 1.7 million bpd and we are committed to that threshold … our current production with the cuts is between 1.6 and 1.7 million barrels per day for November,” Roland Ewubare said on the margins of an oil conference in the United Arab Emirates.
