Diverse reactions have continued to trail the disqualification of Nigeria’s Oscars entry ‘LionHeart’ by the award’s Academy. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on Tuesday, the film was dropped for having too many English dialogues, against the category’s criterion for predominantly non-English dialogue. The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, said that it would deliver its ruling on the bail application filed by the former Chairman of defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, on Nov. 7. Justice Okon Abang fixed the date, after taking arguments from the defence and prosecution counsel. NAN reports that the EFCC charged Maina with 12 counts  bordering on “money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud.” However, Maina pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

A Chief Magistrate Court  in Zuba, FCT, on Tuesday ordered a micro finance bank to pay N500, 000 as exemplary damages, over its failure to grant a loan facility to Ceco CC Investment after it met all requirements. Magistrates Abdullahi Illelah, entered the judgment in the case filed by Ceco CC Investment against Atlas Micro Finance Bank Limited.
