The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday said it had arrested 16 council chairmen in Kwara state over alleged misappropriation of N4billion loan. Spokesman of the Commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were currently being quizzed by its operatives at the Ilorin zonal office. The Chairman of the Senate committee on Pension Matters, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau, has urged the Federal Government to pay the over N400 billion it is owing pensioners under the Contributory Pension Scheme. Shekarau made the call on Friday in Lokoja while assessing the ongoing data capturing and verification of Federal pensioners in the state by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PITAD). The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Cross River has assured motorists and others residents of adequate supply of petroleum products to depot in the states. Four persons escaped death following the collapse of four uncompleted two-storey buildings at about 4:10 p.m. at Glover Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday.
