A Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja has ordered the Lagos State House of Assembly to halt probe of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode pending the determination of the case filed by the former governor against the Assembly. The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, adjourned for hearing the bail application filed by the former Chairman of defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, until Nov. 6. Justice Okon Abang gave the ruling after taking the arguments of the defence and prosecution counsel. The Police Command in Anambra have arrested 115 suspects for alleged pick pocketing, hand bag snatching and smoking of cannabis, among other social deviances in the commercial city of Onitsha. The police on Wednesday arraigned a 33-year-old businessman, Obi Ugwuoke, in Magistrates’ Court in Kuje, FCT for allegedly being in possession of stolen 19 gallons of jet oil from the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja. Ugwuoke, who resides in Bassa Village, Airport Road, Abuja, is charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy and possession of stolen prosperity. The Prosecutor, Sgt. The Police in Osun, on Wednesday arraigned five persons at the Federal High Court, Osogbo, for alleged N8.7 million fraud. The Defendants are Adedeji Taiwo, Seun Oladunoye, Olawale Idowu, Ojo Olatunbosun, and Oladayo Oluwafemi. The prosecutor, Mr Muyiwa Ogunleye, a Principal State Counsel, had told the court that the accused persons committed the offence sometime between February and March, at Adebam-Busayo Trading Complex, Ayetoro area, Osogbo.
