The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on Wednesday inaugurated a Personnel Training and Resource Centre (PTRC) in Benin to boost the knowledge of personnel in its Edo Command. The centre, which would help the personnel to deal with contemporary issues on migration was funded by the Government of Netherland and implemented by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). Dame Edith Okowa, wife of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has denied receiving N3.5 billion for her pet project, O’5 Initiative, from the Initiative for Global Development, a U.S based organisation. The governor’s wife made the denial in Asaba on Wednesday at a press briefing while reacting to stories making the round that IGD donated 10 million dollars (N3.5 billion) to O’5 Initiative. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday in Abuja approved N15.7 billion for the completion of work on Suleja-Minna-Labata road in Niger State and Ibadan-Lagere-Ilesa bye-pass road linking Oyo and Osun states. The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, disclosed this when he briefed State House Correspondents on the outcome of the Council meeting which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
