An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday sentenced a 32-year-old man, Francis Joseph, to one year imprisonment for stealing a laptop, worth N375, 000 in a church. The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Ope-Agbe, who handed down the verdict, found Joseph guilty and ordered that the sentence would run without an option of fine. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will not extend the Sept. 30, deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Kogi and Bayelsa. Mr Festus Okoye, the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.
