Taraba confirms 2 more cases of COVID-19
Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba, on Monday announced the confirmation two new cases of COVID-19 in the state by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The latest confirmation takes the total number of cases in the state to Eight. The Kano State Ministry of Health has disclosed that two additional deaths of the COVID-19 have been recorded making a total of three confirmed deaths in the state. The ministry made this known on its official Twitter handle @KNSMOH, that at 12:15 p.m. of April 27, 2020, two additional deaths of COVID-19 were confirmed. NAN reports that total confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the state stood at 77 total confirmed cases, no discharged case, and three deaths. The ministry, however, ordered residents to take responsibility and exercise social distancing at all levels.

The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) says it has donated Four million Naira to support the Federal Government’s efforts to fight against the spread of novel Coronavirus pandemic. The President and Chairman of NBCC, Mr Kayode Falowo, made this known in Lagos on Monday. President Muhammadu Buhari has announced new measures that will take effect nationwide as part of measures to contain the ravaging novel coronavirus in Nigeria. The Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen, has said that no Commissioner in the state tested positive of the novel coronavirus as insinuated in the social media. In a statement in Uyo on Monday, Inyangeyen said that all the Commissioners in the State executive council are in good health conditions. Unity Bank Plc on Monday donated N10 million to the Ondo State Government in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Mr Lanre Awe, representing the Managing Director of Unity Bank, presented the cheque to Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State in Akure. He explained that the donation was the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility to assist in providing relief to the people of the state during COVID-19 lockdown. Receiving the donation, Gov. One person was killed in a storey building that collapsed on Sunday at the Onipasan area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday. Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that commercial agriculture remains the backbone of the state’s economy.
