The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has distributed palliative items to 287 widows in military barracks to cushion the effect of COVID-19 lockdown. Dr Ramatu Aliyu, the FCT Minister of State presented the items, to the beneficiaries at the Mambilla barracks in Asokoro. The Police Force Headquarters on Sunday announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with the kidnap and murder of a Catholic Seminarian, Nnadi Michael of the Catholic Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna State. The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja. The Ondo State Government said it would distribute a special variety of maize seeds as a palliative to farmers in the state, to help mitigate hunger after the Coronavirus pandemic. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it had received 13 Nigerians that arrived from Lome, Togo at Seme-Krake joint border post. The Spokesman, NIS, Mr Sunday James who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja said that the returnees were technicians that went to install Industrial Machines in Togo. The Bayero University, Kano is to establish a Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing centre to check the spread of the pandemic, its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahuza Bello, has said. Bello, who is the Chairman of the COVID-19 Fund Rising Committee in the state, said that the centre would have a capacity to test 180 samples daily. Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has declared a dusk to dawn curfew on the state as part of government efforts to check further spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the state. Ikpeazu said this on Saturday in Aba while addressing newsmen on the state government’s efforts toward handling recent developments in the state.
