The Management, National Hospital Abuja (NHA), has denied allegations that its nurses protested over lack of protective equipment after a suspected COVID-19 patient was rushed to its intensive care unit. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, presided over the meeting of the Economic Sustainability Committee(ESC) set up to address the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. The five mobile courts reactivated to try violators of the lockdown order in the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday convicted no fewer than 20 violators. Mr Ikharo Attah, Chairman, FCT Movement Restrictions Enforcement Team, announced this in Abuja while giving an update on the level of compliance with the regulations put in place to control the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. Nigeria has recorded 35 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the total confirmed cases to 442 as at Thursday night. According to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, tweeted that the new cases are recorded in Lagos, FCT, Kano and Oyo States. The police on Thursday said they had arrested four suspects over the murder of Mrs Funke Olakurin, daughter of Chief Reuben Fasoranti, Leader of the PAN-Yoruba Social Cultural Organisation, Afenifere. The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja. Ms Ronke Onadeko, a downstream petroleum industry expert, has advised the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), to review its policy on fuel pricing modulation in the country. The final performance results in revenue collection by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for the first quarter(Q1, 2020) has been released, which revealed that the Service posted a new collection record of 15% increase for the quarter under review compared to the Q1,2019. The 15% increase in Q1, 2020 is a first in the FIRS first quarter collection history since its inception in colonial times.
