The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Plateau Command, has assured the public of free vehicular movement during the yuletide.
Mr Andrew Bala, the command’s Public Education Officer, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Monday.
According to him, the command has deployed all its officers and men, including special marshals to man strategic points of the roads to ease traffic congestion.
Bala explained that the move was aimed at ensuring that motorists in the state enjoyed accident-free and traffic-free Christmas.
“As part of the Operation Zero Tolerance Special Patrol, we have fully deployed our regular and special marshals alongside monitoring teams and reinforcement to ensure a free flow of traffic in Plateau.
“This season is usually characterized by heavy vehicular movement. So our men will be stationed at points considered as hubs of gridlock in order to ease traffic congestion.
“This will enable motorists and other road users in the state to celebrate Christmas, devoid of accidents and traffic congestion,” he said.
Bala called on motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations and desist from bad road behaviour to ensure an accident-free yuletide.
He also advised motorists to support and cooperate with the FRSC in its bid to ensure a free flow of traffic during the festivity.
Bala advised residents of the state to report any infraction, obstruction or crashes through the corps’ emergency no 122 or the nearest FRSC formation in the state.
