#COVID-19 In Ramadan: How To Worship, By Daud Musa

That the lockdown is extended is no more news neither is it a surprise to those faithfully following the trend of the #COVID-19 pandemic. It certainly brings no smiles to the cheeks, yes no smiles.

Will it be correct to say that the situation is hopeless and gloomy? Certainly not! Where there is life, there is hope.
Our pious predecessors face a challenge that the Glorious Qur’an reported them of saying: “whence the help from Allah?” Immediately the Almighty responded thus: “certainly the help of Allah is near!” Q2:214.
The world should be hopeful, the people should be prayerful the Muslims have been commanded thus: “Be patient, endure, persevere and fear Allah so that you can attain success”!
The physical structures that stand for worship centres are under lock and key. The worshippers are on lockdown.
Lockdown means Stay Safe Wherever you are. What that translates to is for you to be aware and implement the default setting of Islam. Remember that “the entire earth is a place of worship”. An upper hand that is only gifted to our Nabbiyy, Mohammed s.a.w.
Exception to the rule are burial ground and waste disposal land.
Back to basics. Among the prescribed format to prevent you from spreading #COVID-19 is proper, regular and intermittent washing of hands and face. I am happy to inform you that it is a prescription for a Muslim approaching Salat, the believers 5 canonical prayers daily.
It goes thus: the palms, the mouth, the nostrils, face, the top of the head (hair), ears, and the ankles. The washing is done thoroughly.
By regularly doing that and for Muslims, religiously washing the aforementioned parts called ablution, you are ready and free to approach Allah to dedicate worship to the Supreme.
In Ramadan, going back to basic, prominent Messengers from Allah took a special interest in the teaching of the above and Mohammed, the last of the Messengers and Prophets, taught these ones on one and family by family while Community participation was absent.
In Ramadan, it is back to basics. Islam in default setting. Teach and practice Islam, rulings, and ethics within the available family.
