The Plateau Gov Simon Lalong has expressed sadness over the death of former President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Rev Alexander Lar.
Lalong in a condolence message by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Simon, on Tuesday in Jos commiserated with the family of the late cleric.
The governor described the death of Lar as a great loss to not only his immediate family, the church and the Christian community but to Plateau and Nigeria.
“The late Rev. Dr. Lar lived a life full of love, honesty, compassion, and justice. He fought the good fight of faith by preaching the gospel of Christ fearlessly and living in tandem with the faith he professed.
“He left behind enduring legacies that will continue to resound for a long time,” he said.
Lalong urged the family of the deceased, to take solace that the Late Reverend fulfilled his mission on earth and contributed to building the Church on the Plateau and also Nigeria as a whole.
He said the state would miss his wealth of wisdom, experience and Godly counsel which he had offered relentlessly over the years.
