Bashir Ahmad, an ex-aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, in a veiled criticism against President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the biting economic hardship in the country, has said that many Nigerians are struggling silently.
“Truly, many people are struggling silently in these times of critical economic hardship. They shouldn’t have to beg or show their need for our support. Let’s extend a helping hand to as many people as we can, even when they don’t ask for it. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Encourage those in your circle to also do the same.”
The statement comes after Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, jerked up the pump price of the Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, to N1,030 per litre.
