The Oyo State Police Command has summoned comedian Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, popularly known as Trinity Guy, for questioning regarding his recent skit that has sparked outrage.
In a statement shared on their official Twitter handle, the police command confirmed that Trinity Guy was invited due to his latest skit involving a young girl. The content of the skit has been deemed highly inappropriate and disturbing.
The statement released by the command reads, “Popular content creator, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa AKA Trinity has been contacted and invited at the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the disturbing viral skit content making the rounds across the social media space concerning a female minor. Updates would be provided soon.”
The demand for Trinity Guy’s arrest was initially made by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, following the release of the controversial skit involving a minor. The skit attracted widespread criticism on social media for its inappropriate nature.
In the skit, Trinity Guy portrayed a scenario where the minor pretended to have accidentally witnessed his genitals while he was urinating. He then proceeded to ask the child to describe his private parts.
Responding to the outcry, the Force spokesman expressed his stance on the matter through an Instagram post. He stated that Trinity Guy should be apprehended and brought before the court to face legal consequences for his actions. Adejobi assured the public that the police would take swift action in handling the case.
The summoning of Trinity Guy by the Oyo State Police Command signifies the seriousness with which they regard the matter. The investigation will seek to determine the extent of the potential harm caused by the skit and whether any laws were violated.
