‘All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin. And therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words, ‘Ich bin ein Berliner!’ ‘ [I am a Berliner (citizen of Berlin)!]
— John F. Kennedy, U.S. President, 1963.
Berlin made history on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 when over 250,000 Germans and non-Germans came out in full force to protest against racism and discrimination. It was like a RED CARD for racism, aggressively kicking out the monster from Germany!
This demonstration was regarded as the largest in the history of unified Germany after the fall of the Berlin wall.
The protest was organised as a follow up to several anti-immigration organised by the supporters of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party
The hashtag #Unteilbar which means “indivisible” was used and the protest started with people from all over Germany walking from Alexanderplatz to the Berlin Siegessaule (Victory Column) where several invited guests gave moving and powerful speech on the need to unite against all forms of discrimination.
