A nursing mother, Bilkisu Aliyu, on Tuesday dragged her husband, Ibrahim, before a Shari’a Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, seeking dissolution of their marriage.
The petitioner, who resides in Hayin Malam Bello area of Kaduna, told court that she was ready to return the N70,000 Ibrahim paid as dowry.
She also prayed court to order Ibrahim to pay N20,000 monthly feeding allowance for her six-month -old baby.
On his part, the defendant, said he still loved his wife.
He said that problem started when she returned to her parent’s house to give birth.
Ibrahim prayed court to grant the prayers of the complainant.
The Judge, Malam Murtala Nasir, adjourned untill Feb. 14 for the defendant to present the list of items he bought for the petitioner and how much he spent during their wedding.
