IBADAN – In line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s plan to conduct COVID-19 tests on at least 10,000 residents of the State within a short time, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Citizen For Citizen, is set to sponsor a free mass COVID -19 testing exercise that would cover 2,000 residents. Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday appeared on live video to celebrate Easter with health workers at the COVID-19 isolation facilities. The Lagos State Government has partnered with Julius Berger Plc in continuation of the disinfection and fumigation of public places in the state to curtail the spread of COVID-19. Another batch of 23 Nigerian returnees from the Togo Republic arrived Seme Border Post in Lagos State in the early hours of Sunday, the News Agency of Nigeria reports (NAN) reports. NAN gathered that the 23 Nigerians, who came from different parts of the world, had landed in Lome on Ethiopian Airlines over two weeks ago. Property and equipment worth millions of Naira were on Saturday destroyed when an online radio station, Agidigbo Radio, went up in flames. The online radio station which belongs to an Ibadan based radio presenter, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat is located along the Iwo-Ibadan Road in Monatan area of Ibadan. At least 20 states in Nigeria have recorded COVID-19 cases. This follows the latest update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday. A total of 13 new cases were confirmed. A breakdown shows that eleven are in Lagos, one in Delta and one in Kano. It is the first time Kano and Ondo would be included in the statistics. In total, there are 318 confirmed cases. 70 patients have been discharged, while ten are dead. Lagos still has the highest number of cases with 174.
