Nasarawa State Government has cautioned residents against spreading fake news on coronavirus that could cause panic in the state. Mr Dogo Sammah, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lafia. The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has called for public investments in the health sector to manage and prevent Coronavirus from escalating in the country. The Federal Fire Service (FFS) on Wednesday in Abuja called for caution in the use of hand sanitizers in homes to avoid fire incidents. Mr Abdulganiyu Jaji, Head of the Inspectorate, Investigation and Enforcement Department of the agency, gave the advice at a low-key event to mark the 2020 National Fire Safety Week. Jaji, who represented the FFS Controller-General, Mr Liman Ibrahim, said the message was necessitated by increased use of hand sanitizers in homes over the Coronavirus pandemic. The Ogun Government says it is targeting no fewer 50,000 people, mostly youths, to benefit from its various agricultural projects in the state. The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Adeola Odedina, disclosed this during the flag-off of the second phase of the state’s broiler project at Eweje Farm Settlement in Odeda. Lagos State Government would receive financial support from the Federal Government to the tune of N10 billion to combat Coronavirus spread in the state. The management of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), on Monday said four of its Engineering programmes had been given full accreditation by the Council for Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). The Deputy Director Corporate Services of the university, Mr Ademuyiwa Adeyinka, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Oye-Ekiti.
