The Kwara Government has started the distribution of forms to members of the public interested in being engaged as vendors for the Home Grown School Feeding Programme (HGSF). The Joint Security Operatives, code-named ‘Exercise SWIFT Response’, has seized items valued at N7.3 billion in seven months of partial border closure by the Federal Government. The Customs’ Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah, who is the spokesperson of the operatives, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday. A Federal High Court sitting in Owerri on Tuesday dismissed a suit challenging the emergence of Sen. Duoye Diri as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Sept. 3, 2019 governorship primaries. The Osun Police Command on Tuesday inaugurated the “Community Policing Committee” to assist in recruiting special constabularies that would support the operation of the force in the state as well as secure remote communities. Mr Johnson Kokumo, the Commissioner of Police in the state, said at the inauguration in Osogbo that the committee intended to take security back to remote areas.
