The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has empowered women and youths in Targeri, Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa. The authority distributed 110 sewing and grinding machines to the beneficiaries. The NPA Information Officer in the area, Alhaji Fahad Mohammad, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Birniwa on Wednesday that the authority was represented by Alhaji Ali Garba, who distributed the machines as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The authorities at the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday commenced screening of staff and visitors as part of deliberate efforts to check the possible spread of coronavirus. Nigeria and the Japanese Government have signed an $18.2m grant agreement to strengthen the capacity of Network laboratories of the Nigeria Centre of Disease Control for accurate medical and laboratory investigations. The police on Wednesday arraigned Lere Olayinka, 47, the spokesman to former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged N13.5 million fraud. Justice Danlami Senchi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Wednesday granted an order of interim injunction stopping Mr. Adams Oshiomhole from parading himself as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Granting the injunction, the Judge posited that political parties must be bound by their constitution.
