A total of 41 All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains from Talata-Mafara local government area of Zamfara state on Thursday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Talata-Mafara is the local government area of the immediate past governor and APC leader in the state, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari. Dr. Sha’aya Shehu led the defectors alongside and the state PDP leadership to Governor Bello Matawalle at the Government House, Gusau. The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) says it is poised to turn Lagos into a megacity that will compete favourably with others across the world. How a 13-year-old stole phones worth N1.4m
A 13-year-old (name withheld) who allegedly broke into a shop and stole phones worth N1.4 million, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The 13-year-old appeared before Magistrate B.O. Osunsanmi, along with another teenager, aged 16, on a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing. The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Osunsanmi granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with one surety each in like sum. Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa has assented to the law which prescribed the death penalty for anyone found indulging in the act of kidnapping in the state. Sule, at an elaborate ceremony on Wednesday in Lafia, signing into law the “Nasarawa State kidnapping Act Prohibition Law 2020” and “Child-Protection Executive Order”. “I need to state that the Nasarawa State Kidnapping Act Prohibition Law was extensively deliberated and passed by the State House of Assembly. “This law spelled out various offences relating to kidnapping and prescribed stringent punishment for perpetrators, such as life imprisonment and the death penalty,” the governor said.…

DPR shuts 5 cooking gas stations in Kogi
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), has sealed off five cooking gas dispensing stations in Kabba, Kogi West Senatorial District, for operating in unsafe environment and without licence.
