Fred Ajudua, a former Lagos socialite accused of defrauding Lt.-Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi (rtd) of $8.4 million in 2004 at the Kirikiri Prisons, has written the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to reveal Bamaiyi’s declared assets. Bamaiyi is a former Chief of Army Staff. Mr Godwin Ezeemo, a front-line politician, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to de-register more political parties to further sanitize the nation’s electoral process. ABUJA – The governor-elect of Bayelsa State, David Lyon and his Deputy, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo have been sacked by the Supreme Court. The apex court, Thursday, in a unanimous decision by a five-man panel of Justices led by Justice Mary Odili, held that Degi-Eremieoyo presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on federal roads in the country. The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) says it is investigating the cause of a recent explosion at the Brass Oil Terminal, located off Bayelsa coastline. The Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) on Thursday described the late musician, Victor Olaiya, who died on Wednesday as one of Nigeria’s greatest men’s influences. A 28-year-old waitress, Dora Edet, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly adding marijuana into noodles she cooked for her friend. Edet, a resident of No. 4, Mufutau Shobola St., Ifako-Ijaiye in Lagos State, is facing a count charge of breach of the peace. She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
