Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) on Tuesday disclosed that the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Command intercepted $8.06 million from the airport. Ali during a media briefing held in Lagos, said that the dollars loaded in six big `bagco’ bags were packed in a coaster bus belonging to the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company and was intercepted at the airport tarmac. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has called on stakeholders within the airport community to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of service being rendered at the nation’s airport. As part of efforts geared toward bequeathing a highly skillful and professional Police Force to the nation, the Nigeria Police Force has established a National Institute for Policy Studies. The Institute, which is an affiliate of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil Kano, is temporarily located within the Police Staff College, Jos and will provide police personnel, alongside other members of the national security community with needed skills and knowledge on safety and security. The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Adnan Bostaji is dead. The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria, which announced this in a statement on Tuesday, said that the envoy died in his sleep. “With the deepest sense of sadness and complete submission to the Will of Allah, the Royal Embassy announces the passing away of his Excellency, the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, Mr Adnan Mahmoud Bostaji,” the mission said. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), says it generated N2 billion from the Hajj Development Levy. Fatima Usara, Head, Public Affairs, NAHCON, stated this in a statement in Abuja.
