The Federal Government has declared the security outfit by South-West states known as Operation Amotekun as illegal. In a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Dr Umar Gwandu, the government said the establishment of Amotekun is not backed by any known law in the land. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has developed a timetable of activities with timelines for the re-run and supplementary elections in Imo scheduled for Jan. 25. The Supreme Court has fixed January 20 to deliver judgment on an appeal from the governorship election in Kano State. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it has not released any date for the commencement of online registration in respect of 2020 Batch “A” Orientation programme.
