Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi has directed that the new minimum wage be paid to civil servants in Ebonyi by Jan.10, 2020. The directive which was contained a statement signed by the governor’s Special Assistant (SA) on Media, Mr Francis Nwaze, directed the state Accountant General and all Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen to ensure the payment. Over 7, 000 Almajiris have so far been captured by the Niger State Government under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA), a World Bank assisted programme. The programme is targeted at reducing the number of out of school children in Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari has reassured Nigerians that withdrawal of the military from areas where peace had been restored will not be done in a manner that will expose communities to more risks of attacks. Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has approved the appointment of Prof. Olugbenga Ige as the acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA). The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Friday, inaugurated an ultra-modern building complex for the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences for the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the university, which was established in 2017, commenced academic activities in 2018 with about 1,000 students into different courses of study. Buhari said the inauguration of the ecological projects further showed the commitment of his administration to addressing flooding and erosion challenges in the country.
